OvernightPrints.com For Postcards
Amy’s got this whole Dutch thing going on where she’s extremely conscientious about correspondence. She always RSVPs, writes thoughtful letters, sends thank-you notes, sends out announcements, etc. Left to my own devices I would probably forget all of those, but I have Amy to remind me. So, I sat down at the computer, poured through hundreds of family photos, picked one and started putting together our Christmas postcard in Inkscape. Thankfully, Amy sent me a ton of great ideas to work with.
Anyhow, this is supposed to be a quick tip, so here’s the point: after exporting my card design to a bitmap (first PNG and then TIFF), I was able to upload it for printing at my favorite online printshop: OvernightPrints.com. John from SyncSpeed first told me about them (they’re in his neck of the woods) and we’ve used them exclusively since. For only $39.95 we were able to get full-color, two-sided postcards with a glossy coat on one side. And the turn-around really was overnight.
So, if you need to get Christmas cards out quickly and done with style, check out their site. If you don’t have design skills, they have some really nifty designs you can choose from. If you DO have design skills, they make it super easy to quickly get what you want. The best of all worlds!

Sounds interesting. Definitely a great idea for all of us people who wait until the last minute!

A scary thing about them, is that customer invoices are open to everyone on the web. A violent ex of mine googled me and got my home address from my online invoice at overnightprints.com.
Double beware to use these guys.

They’re a pretty big company, but I’ve heard many complaints about them and read these complaints on numerous blogs.
I’d recommend going with http://www.mind2print.com. They have great business cards and postcards, low prices and excellent customer support.
