Creating Storyboards

love Flickr for the inspiration I receive when browsing through some of the millions of photos hosted there. Many times, I come across photographers that are so creative that I have to add them to my contacts list so I can be inspired by their new photos that pop up every time I log in. (I love this contact list feature on Flickr!)

One such photographer is inkyblack. She has a way of photographing her two sons with such tenderness, love and playfulness that I melt every time I see them. This is my goal when photographing my daugher Sophia. And I am constantly trying to find inspiration wherever I can to help me take great shots that not only tell a story, but that exude emotion.

Fried Fair Food One idea I got from inkyblack is the storyboard. I love this idea! If you get a chance, you should defintely check some of these out.

I’ve decided to try my hand at the whole storyboard concept. It’s not too far of a jump from my addiction to FD’s flickr mosaics. I’ve only made two so far (but not to fear, many more are on the way!). I think doing storyboards like these will definitely help in my photography — from the way I take pictures to how I tell a story through a series of photographs to even just making me think harder about what I want to capture before I shoot.

I’m not really a scrapbooker, and I sometimes get that twinge of guilt that Sophia won’t have a creative baby book, but maybe, just maybe, I’ve found my solution.
